Our History
In August of 2009, Curviro Trading began its production operations by purchasing and utilising a single, pre-owned rewinding machine to produce rolls of conventional toilet paper. Five years after starting-off with a 1.3 m toilet paper machine, Curviro expanded and acquired a larger rewinding machine (2.3 m) and a core making machine. Currently we are in the process of expanding our operation by acquiring specialised, faster and sophisticated machinery to meet the growing demand in the market.
In 2011, we were approached by a medical company to manufacture disposable body bags for that particular industry. Today, Curviro is able to design and manufacture 12 different types of body bags for the medical and Pathology Departments of South Africa. Thereafter, Curviro acquired a slitting machine and more sealing machines.
During the pandemic in 2020, there was a shortage in the market for hair nets and disposable shoe covers. We were asked by the Department of Industry to start manufacturing non-woven hair nets, shoe covers and plastic non-slip shoe covers. We then acquired a second-hand hair net machine and additional sewing machines to undertake the manufacturing of mop caps and shoe covers, together with disposable Heavy Duty LD, PVC & Biodegradable Body Bags (Human Remain Pouches / Cadaver Bag / Mortuary Bag).
